Pour parler des gens, nous utilisons les pronoms toniques.

When we refer to people, we use stress pronouns.

Are you having lunch with your mother? Yes, I’m having lunch with her.

Travaillent-ils pour l’entreprise K ? Oui, ils travaillent pour elle.

Do they work for company K? Yes, they work for it.

Each subject pronoun has its stress pronoun:

je – moi

tu – toi

il – lui

elle – elle

nous – nous

vous – vous

ils – eux

elles – elles

Toi, tu habites en France.

You live in France.

Is that Sophie? Yes it’s her!

Who wants dessert? I do!

Lui et moi, nous sommes amoureux depuis longtemps.

He and I, (we) have been in love for a long time.

Voici Jean et son cousin Pierre. Je parle souvent d’eux.

Here is Jean and his cousin Pierre. I often talk about them.

J’adore lire.

Moi aussi !
